Live Music from Irv Wagner Band and Fireworks at 10 p.m. July 3

On July 3, the City of Yukon is proud to present the annual Veterans Tribute at Freedom Fest. This special evening is held in honor of all veterans at Chisholm Trail Park, 500 W. Vandament. Everyone is invited to this celebration of veterans with food trucks, FREE entertainment, and a mesmerizing fireworks show!

The Hi-Fi Hillbillies kick things off from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Self-described as “a trio of knuckleheads,” The Hi-Fi Hillbillies is an Oklahoma band that plays vintage rock-and-roll dance tunes by artists like Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly, Carl Perkins, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Creedence Clearwater Revival. Neil "The Real Deal" Dirickson, Sneaky Pete DeLesDernier and Fast Eddie Rossman make up this trio.

Irv Wagner’s Concert Band will follow with an 8:30 p.m. patriotic tribute to the U.S. Armed Forces. Recipient of the prestigious Neill Humfeld Award, Irv Wagner trains his students in every line of trombone work from playing in Symphony Orchestras, to jazz, to teaching at every level, and writing music. Percussion Instruments, Music Stands, Chairs, and Rehearsal Space is all donated by the University of Oklahoma School of Music.

An awe-inspiring fireworks show at 10 p.m. concludes the evening, which will also pay tribute to American veterans. Not able to make it inside the park but still watching the show nearby? Tune into KJ103 to enjoy the music that plays along with the fireworks.

In between entertainment, grab a bite to eat! Many food trucks will be on-site to feed hungry festivalgoers. Many food trucks accept cards, but it’s best to have cash on hand, just in case.

Freedom Fest continues the next day and evening with free watermelon and ice cream, a concert by the OKC Philharmonic, fireworks, and more!
