Ladies Library Club
The Ladies Library Club meets the second Thursday of each month at 1:30 pm at the library.
In 1905, the Ladies Library Club formed and began Yukon's Library. They served as the sole financial supporter for the library until 1979 when the City of Yukon took over governance of the library. The purpose of the Ladies Library Club is service to the Mabel C. Fry Public Library in Yukon. Additional purposes include personal enrichment and enjoyment of the members.
Today, the group continues to meet on a monthly basis and assists the library by providing financial assistance with funds from their fundraisers. The Library Club holds an annual holiday auction, which is the major fundraiser for the year. They also co-sponsor the annual Chocolate Festival with Yukon Parks & Recreation. The Ladies Library Club purchases items requested by the Librarian that are not covered in their annual budget. Over the years the club has purchased flooring, paint, shelving, artwork, computers, and furniture to name a few things.
